About
Danny Kerner is a guitarist and composer who is currently based in Austin, TX. Over the last 14+ years, he has played with a variety of bands such as The Sahara Quartet, Indestructible Now, Cazayoux, The Sidepiece Collective, Zoumountchi, The Sahara Allstars, and artists including Robert Plant's piano player/collaborator John Baggott, free-jazz trumpeter Rob Mazurek, Chicago blues stars Little Ed, Smilin' Bobby, and Mary Lane, jam-band godfather Colonel Bruce Hampton, and The Allman Brothers Band's late, great drummer Butch Trucks.
In addition to that, Danny has studied guitar with Dave Manley (Herbie Hancock, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu), Mike Stern (Miles Davis, Brecker Bros, Jaco Pastorius), Tim Miller (Mick Goodrick, Randy Brecker, George Garzone), Norm Zocher (Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Moses, Esperanza Spalding) and many other great players.
Danny's group, The Danny Kerner Group, is available for performances, events, etc. Aside from that, he can work solo, join existing groups, or put together groups for specific occasions. Danny is familiar with a variety of musical styles, and he is available to record guitar parts for projects remotely or in-session with you/your band at your studio of choice.
